Despite contending with Michigan's unpredictable weather and the looming threat of a winter storm, the East Lansing community enthusiastically gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Dave's Hot Chicken this Friday. Located just off Grand River Ave, the restaurant beckons with a tempting array of chicken-based meals, complemented by an assortment of sides and unique drinks. The fast-casual restaurant chain originated in California and established its sixth Michigan location in East Lansing. Although the official grand-opening festivities took place on Friday, the restaurant quietly opened its doors earlier.

“In Lansing specifically, I feel like we’ve had a self-esteem problem for a little bit,” Pulver said. “It’s been fun to see us coming around to the other side of that and a renewed gritty sense of pride in our city. That’s something I deeply relate to and want to convey. To be able to do that in my hometown is something that’s really cool for me.”

Blue Owl Coffee relocates to Trowbridge

The rumors are true: Blue Owl Coffee, a staple for Michigan State University students and East Lansing residents, is moving from Ann Street to Trowbridge Road after five years. The Ann Street location will close during Thanksgiving break and the new location will officially open as an up-and-running coffee shop on Dec. 1st.
