ASMSU plans for meeting of Big Ten student governments

ASMSU, MSU’s undergraduate student government, is sending a team of delegates to the Association of Big Ten Students Conference, or ABTS, this weekend hosted by Northwestern University in Chicago . The ABTS Conference is a meeting of Big Ten student governments and allows delegates from each school to discuss and debate current student issues.

Barb Byrum I knew the marriage licenses were issued legally, Iknw the marriages were enetred uto legally asn I as many other knew that these were valid licenses i knew that these marriages were in fact kewgal and I I look forward to total equality in our state tere has been a stay on this decision and tomorrow we are looking to see we are waiting to see iof the us supreme court will hear the michigan same sex-mariage ase  Gina Calcagno I think this ruling is certainly a good sing of things to come I there waiting on the supre court a the big thinhg the most important thing to us to the michigan for marriage coalition.... is that it communicates that all these couples all the 300 couples have ever asked for is that they be able to ove and protect their families without  afear of discrimination and that iw what this court recognized  Tomorrow we are hjoping for good new from the supreme court they will be conferemcing about the 6th circuit cases agai tomorrow  we could get an announcment that theya re going to be scheduleing a hearing by tomorrow afternioon if they decide  those cases will likely be heard during the last week of april and we will have a ruling at the end of june discussing the cses tomorrow we are hopint he will announce that they will be hearing the cases  the biggest thuing that we are really oushiung is the fact that we ar ejust thrill that the court has recognized that these marriage are legal and that these relationships are valid

Student employees will see paperless paychecks in near future

“It costs us about $5 per check, to generate these, to mail them out,” Haas said. “You figure if you’ve got 2,200 people and you’re doing this a dozen times, it adds up to more than $100,000. That could basically fund another faculty position.That’s why we’re looking to do this.”

Lansing BWL General Manager J. Peter Lark fired Tuesday

According to several reports, the Lansing Board of Water and Light fired General Manager J. Peter Lark on Tuesday for "just cause" on the grounds that Lark has failed to fulfill the requirements of his job. Reportedly, "just cause" in Lark's contract is synonymous with "employee misconduct."
