Students gathered in the Student Services building last night to attend a blanket and card-making event hosted by Michigan State University’s National Pan-Hellenic Council, or NPHC.
Since the Jan. 8 reopening of Berkey Hall, one of the sites of the February mass shooting that killed three people and injured five at Michigan State University, students enrolled in classes in the building have had varying levels of comfort, with some requesting accommodations. The university has largely passed off that responsibility to the individual instructors of the classes.
The Michigan State main library and the Digital Scholarship Lab are bringing back Open Virtual Reality walk-in sessions. These events, which occur from 3 - 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, allow students and staff to connect with technology by playing games, conducting research and browsing the system, all by using VR.

On Thursday, Wharton Center Student Marketing Organization put on "Mammia Mia!" College Night, their last college night of the year. The event took place above the Grand Cobb Theatre before the showing of Broadway’s "Mammia Mia!". MSU announced its plans for the one-year anniversary of the Feb.13 shooting Friday morning. Plans for the day include a day of service, a remembrance event in the evening, and "reflective spaces" to be set up around campus.

The newest addition to the Communication Arts and Sciences building, the Alienware Esports Lounge, was unveiled at a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Wednesday. The lounge, made in partnership with Dell Technologies, is the university’s first ever dedicated esports space.
Law enforcement officers and federal agencies refused to participate in a review of Michigan State University’s response to their February mass shooting, according to a draft of the review, which called their “lack of trust” and decision to do so “unfortunate.” The finding, among others, was not included in the final copy of the review.

A winter storm warning has been put in place by the National Weather Service and will remain in effect until 7 p.m. on Saturday. According to an NWS Urgent Winter Weather Message, a winter storm is heading toward west Michigan and is forecasted to start snowing shortly after 4 p.m. Friday afternoon. This storm is forecasted to bring anywhere from 8 in. to 13in of snowfall and wind gusting up to 50 mph. Windchill is expected to bring temperatures into the single digits.
