Women's basketball to forgo 2015 postseason due to injuries

The injuries and setbacks have taken such a major toll on the Spartans this season, that they've decided to forgo any postseason berths.  After bulldozing the Michigan Wolverines in the second round of the Big Ten tournament last week, before falling to eventual champion, Maryland, in the quarterfinals, a possible women's NIT berth was in the picture for MSU, but head coach Suzy Merchant has made the decision to rest her players, rather to fight for a championship.  “I am incredibly proud of what this year’s team accomplished under such challenging circumstances.

Reaching out to professors can only benefit students

At a university with roughly 50,000 students, it can be tough to stand out, especially in a lecture hall with hundreds of people in attendance. Because of this, some students can often go an entire semester without ever speaking to or meeting their professor personally. This is a problem.

Professor defied expectations to become athlete

Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as an infant, Duncan Wyeth’s parents were told by doctors he wouldn’t live past 40-years-old. Sixty-nine years later, Wyeth is an active and mobile MSU professor teaching the course Disability in a Diverse Society, and the proud owner of 14 athletic medals — proving all the doctors wrong.
