MSU's annual Global Festival showcases cultures of the world

Student cultural clubs from all over campus and the Lansing community gathered at the MSU Union for MSU's  2015 Community Volunteers for International Programs’ Global Festival. The festival featured live performances and demonstrations by over twenty different groups with members from Thailand, Africa, Iran and many more. The event also featured street food, a gift shop selling cultural goods and booths where MSU clubs shared their culture with students and the community. “It’s really imperative that we have things like this because it’s a great place for domestic students to learn about all the different cultures on campus” comparative cultures & politics junior and community outreach and programming intern for MSU’s Office for International Students and Scholars Sohela Suri said.

Ohio State fans welcoming to MSU football fans

Whenever people describe Ohio State fans it is generally negative, but the crowd at ESPN's College GameDay couldn't disagree more. "We live in Cleveland now so we came down for the game and we brought our two-year-old and it’s just been fun," 2002 social relations graduate Laura James said. "It’s really kind of a family atmosphere and just fun to see other State fans and cheer and yell go green and go white to each other.” James will always love her alma mater, but she has been pleased with the people of Columbus and the atmosphere. “Nothing compares to East Lansing, East Lansing will always be home," James said. "It’s a little tough with all the Buckeye fans around, but it’s a great atmosphere, a lot of happy faces and everyone’s been really nice.”
