President Simon discusses future decision of possible WKAR-TV auction

With the future of WKAR-TV up in the air, affiliates of the station are thinking about outcomes that will come from the decision to send or not to send in an application for auction. At the Dec.18 Board of Trustees meeting, the board passed a resolution granting President Lou Anna K. Simon full authority to decide to file an application for the Federal Communication Commission auction or not.

Food industry management junior Damon Grace saw a video online that “really sparked” his interest. Little did he know, this interest would lead him to open up and become the co-owner of Bumpin’ Bubbles, a statewide bubble soccer rental company that has served more than 250 events.

MSU swept by Michigan, loses 6-3 in series finale

MSU hockey (5-15-2) is still winless since Dec. 11 with it’s latest two losses coming at the hands of Michigan (13-3-3). Just like the night before, a quick flurry of Michigan goals buried MSU deep in a hole, stifling any comeback opportunity and ultimately propelling the Wolverines to a 6-3 win.

Planned power outage to affect East Lansing

A planned power outage was scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday and is affecting large parts of East Lansing. The outage was announced by the Lansing Board of Water and Light, according to an alert sent out Friday morning by the East Lansing Police Department. The power outage is expected to last 10 to 15 minutes. ELPD will be providing traffic control at major intersections and they are advising drivers to be cautious.

Valentine is questionable to return Sunday against Penn State, Izzo says

It's been an interesting few weeks for MSU head basketball coach Tom Izzo as his No. 5 MSU basketball team has navigated the beginning part of its Big Ten season without the services of star senior guard Denzel Valentine. On Thursday, the Spartans defeated the Illinois Fighting Illini, 79-54, in their fourth consecutive game without Valentine, who's currently sitting two-to-three weeks to recover from a minor knee surgery he had a few days before Christmas.
