R.J. Shelton’s final first snap of his senior year will come with a different feeling. For the past three years he wasn’t the eldest of the receivers, he wasn’t the most experienced, nor the man who lined up on a crucial third down knowing the ball was coming to him no matter the coverage. In the early hours of Saturday, May 14, 2016, 34-year-old Joshua Christopher Misiak was driving his brother’s vehicle when he and an unidentified 22-year-old woman were shot near the intersection of Kendon Drive and Wildwood Avenue in Lansing. At the hospital, Misiak, a father of two daughters, was pronounced dead due to multiple gunshot wounds. Police say another vehicle pulled up and began shooting shortly after 1:00 a.m.
