Shelton trying to follow in footsteps of Burbridge, Lippett, Fowler.

R.J. Shelton’s final first snap of his senior year will come with a different feeling. For the past three years he wasn’t the eldest of the receivers, he wasn’t the most experienced, nor the man who lined up on a crucial third down knowing the ball was coming to him no matter the coverage. And after watching the likes of Bennie Fowler, Tony Lippett and Aaron Burbridge shoulder the weight of the receiving corps and be the go to guy, Shelton wants to add his name to the list of top Spartan pass catchers.

When neuroscience senior Trevor Davis decided to go to "Harper's Give Back" on Thursday with Kappa Sigma, he had a couple reasons why he wanted to attend. One was the brothers seemed OK when he’d talked to them at the rock on Farm Lane for a fraternity event; he figured he’d like to see them at another function.

MSU students hold sit-in over Women's Lounge

MSU students gathered at the Union for the sit-in protest, “Take Back The Women’s Study Lounge” on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. The Women’s Lounge was once an intended safe area for women to study on MSU's campus since it opened in 1925. MSU administration has converted the space to one for all genders, including a private lactation area that opened August 2016.

Already widely heralded as one of the top linebacker groups in the nation by various pundits and media outlets MSU junior linebacker Jon Reschke said Tuesday afternoon the he and his fellow linebackers have the capability of being the best corps in the nation at the end of the season.

MSU alumna reflects about her gold medal in Rio

Michigan State University alumna, Emily Regan and the U.S. Women's Eight won gold in the 2016 Rio Olympics. On Aug. 8, the echoing sound through Lagoa Stadium was paddles thrashing into the lagoon and the power and desire to win gold. While trailing Canada and the Netherlands through the halfway mark, Regan was confident her team would win it all.

How MSU researchers unlocked a fingerprint-secure smartphone to help police with homicide case

In the early hours of Saturday, May 14, 2016, 34-year-old Joshua Christopher Misiak was driving his brother’s vehicle when he and an unidentified 22-year-old woman were shot near the intersection of Kendon Drive and Wildwood Avenue in Lansing. At the hospital, Misiak, a father of two daughters, was pronounced dead due to multiple gunshot wounds. Police say another vehicle pulled up and began shooting shortly after 1:00 a.m.
