By August 2017, a new building will be shining on Grand River Avenue. On a blustery afternoon in East Lansing, Mich., fans at Spartan Stadium saw MSU return home for a non-conference tussle against the BYU Cougars. The Spartans couldn’t overcome the injuries on defense and dropped their third straight game by a score of 31-14.
MSU (2-2, 0-2 Big Ten) returned home following a loss to Indiana and was greeted in a nonconference affair with BYU (2-3, Independent). At the half, MSU leads the Cougars carried through the half by defensive stops and an impressive first drive. That first drive saw the Spartans execute 15 plays and take 7:03 of the clock, the longest drive numbers of the season for MSU in those categories.
