Letter: We must protect our undocumented Spartans

In the aftermath of Donald Trump's election, I call upon our community to protect undocumented Spartans. As a leader of the Graduate Employees Union, our labor union for Teaching Assistants on campus, I know that our undocumented members, students, and friends are a vital part of our Spartan family, and we must fight to protect them.

FINAL: MSU loses to No. 5 Duke, falling to 4-4 overall

DURHAM, N.C. — After over 13,000 miles on the road in nearly a month, including trips to Hawaii, New York City, and the Bahamas, the MSU men’s basketball team (4-4 overall) nearly finished the season’s gauntlet in upset fashion as the unranked Spartans fell to No. 5 Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium by a final score of 78-69.

MSU student uses childhood misfortune to fuel toy drive for children

Food industry management senior Sherria Hamilton knows what it’s like to not "have it all" around the holidays. Hamilton said she has a lot of siblings, nine altogether. As a result, there were some holidays when her mother would tell her and her siblings they could only receive one gift. She said gift would often be something the kids needed, like clothes, but not something they necessarily wanted, like toys.

MSU volleyball to host opening rounds of NCAA Tournament

Late Sunday evening, the MSU volleyball team welcomed good news regarding its impending journey in the NCAA Tournament. The Spartans earned the overall No. 9 seed and will host Fairfield University, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, or MAAC, champions. The match against the Stags is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Jenison Field House.

Amid data breach, MSU offering free credit monitoring

The attack is under active investigation by MSU police, and it is currently not known what made this specific attack more potent than others MSU has faced. Cody said he's still not at liberty to discuss details because of that and because the investigation is still ongoing.
