For the next eight years, Republican candidate Dan Kelly and Democratic incumbent Dianne Byrum will serve on MSU's Board of Trustees. Trustee Byrum will return after serving an eight-year term, and told The State News she's most proud of her work on the Energy Transition Plan at MSU.

As of 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, 83 of 83 counties were reported for the statewide MSU Board of Trustees race, according to Michigan Secretary of State. Democratic candidate Dianne Byrum and Republican candidate Dan Kelly won the election. Byrum received 23.94 percent of the vote and Kelly received 24.13 percent of the vote.
