Ode, Woodard become first MSU women's basketball portal entries

Just five days after the season concluded, Michigan State women's basketball is already feeling the effects of the transfer portal. Freshman guard Jordan Ode and sophomore forward Juliann Woodard are the first Spartans to enter, leaving a roster that now faces significant questions heading into the offseason — particularly at forward, where depth is suddenly thin.

MSU faces Wisconsin with Frozen Four berth at stake

No. 1-seeded Michigan State hockey will face Wisconsin, the No. 3 regional seed. Puck drop is set for 4:36 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. The game will be streamed on ESPN.  The Spartans (26-8-2) advanced to the regional final after defeating UConn 2-1, and the Badgers (22-12-2) upset Dartmouth 5-1.

MSU seniors share bucket list items to achieve before graduation

For underclassmen, the end of the spring semester usually signals the start of summer break and time away from their studies. However, for current seniors, the end of the spring semester means graduation and the close of their undergraduate career. With graduation just around the corner, some seniors choose to create a bucket list, compiling a multitude of must-do items before May.

Union of Tenure-System Faculty claims MSU violated labor law

The Michigan State University Union of Tenure-System Faculty, who are currently in negotiations with the university, are alleging that the administration has violated the proper negotiating procedure between the two parties. Those violations, according to the UTSF President, have resulted in faculty grievances going unaddressed and adjustments to the process for salary increases — the latter of which has caused the union to shift their negotiation timeline to focus on this sole issue, rather than a complete contract.

Grit and goaltending carry MSU hockey past UConn

Michigan State hockey was backed by an excellent goaltending performance from Trey Augustine, paired resiliency to take a 2-1 win over UConn. MSU took five penalties throughout the game, but responded with successful kills and executed goals. The Spartans advance to the final round of regionals in the NCAA Tournament and will face Wisconsin for a chance at advancing to the Frozen Four.

Student advocates call on MSU to make evening parking free

Four MSU graduate students, as part of their social work class, have begun advocating for increased free parking options on campus in the evenings. Their work has extended beyond the classroom into a fully fledged campaign where they proposed three recommendations to an MSU traffic and transportation advisory committee.
