Buckeyes, Krenzel back in action at Wisconsin

No. 3 Ohio State at No. 23 Wisconsin Ohio State (5-0 overall, 1-0 Big Ten) comes off a bye week that allowed them to recover from numerous injuries. The most important player returning for the Buckeyes this week will be senior quarterback Craig Krenzel, who has been out the past two games with an elbow injury.

WEB ONLY: Cross country teams travel to Hudsonville

After being ranked No. 4 nationally this week, the MSU women's cross country team will travel to the Michigan Intercollegiate in Hudsonville on Friday with the men's team. The women's team is ranked 13 places ahead of Wisconsin to be the highest-ranked Big Ten team. The Intercollegiate will begin at 4 p.m.

Craig Gunn's column condemning smoking is one of his most short-sighted articles I have read in a while ("Smoking: a basic human right or just another annoyance?"). We all know smoking is unhealthy; however, it is our right as citizens of this country to be allowed to have a cigarette.

Company fights Lansing to build gasoline pipeline through city

Wolverine Pipe Line Co., the local company that has fought for three years to build a new gasoline pipeline through Lansing, will present its case before the Michigan Supreme Court within the next two months. The company will argue it does not need permission from the city of Lansing to construct the new pipeline, which would stretch 65 miles long with about 22 miles running along I-96.

Board to discuss projects, finances

Renovations to campus buildings and the university's funding requests to the state are the main issues on the agenda for Friday's MSU Board of Trustees meeting.University Engineer Bob Nestle said he expects the board to approve construction plans to renovate the Brody Complex and the Clinical Center and Life Sciences Building.The Brody Complex renovations are expected to cost about $1.5 million, Nestle said, and the Clinical Center and Life Sciences Building costs are estimated at $740,000."There are two types of projects," Nestle said.

"Under the Tuscan Sun" is one of those films you're forced to watch when Dad is working late and Mom has control of what's going to be rented. It's an interesting diversion but a little too much of one woman's search for love for me.
