Trustees to vote on anti-discrimination amendment
The MSU Board of Trustees will decide Friday whether to add gender identity to MSU's anti-discrimination policy, and officials said an approval could push the university closer to acceptance of every person on campus. The amendment, which was first introduced about two years ago, would add the phrase "gender identity" and a footnote under the harassment section of the discrimination policy. "People need these kinds of things to protect themselves," said Henry Silverman, president of the Lansing Branch of the Michigan American Civil Liberties Union.
