Former MSU head coach Mel Tucker is preparing for litigation against the university for the termination of his $95 million contract yesterday, according to a statement released by Tucker’s attorney, Jennifer Belveal, that referred to his firing as "illegal."

At around 7 p.m., the Michigan State University Union was evacuated after steam discharge from the building's upper areas became excessive. MSU Deputy Spokesperson Dan Olsen said there was no fire, but rather an optical illusion caused by steam, leading many to believe that there was. Olsen said the issue has been resolved and the Union reopened.

On Thursday, Sep. 21, in the Wharton Center, Michigan State University hosted the National Pan-Hellenic Council Yard Show, an annual event consisting of nine historically African American fraternities and sororities, also known as the Divine Nine.
