MSU professor paves the way for future astronomers

When looking up into the night sky, the black canvas is usually filled with an array of lights and patterns. To an ordinary person, these patterns may not seem too intriguing or even garner a second look. But for professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy Laura Chomiuk, these lights, and astrophysics as a whole, make up her entire life.

No. 2 MSU hockey controls destiny in final regular series at Minnesota

The No. 2 Michigan State hockey team is two points away from earning a share of the Big Ten regular-season title, and three points away from clinching it outright. MSU has two games left in the regular season providing six possible points to earn. The Spartans will face Minnesota at 3M Arena at Mariucci on Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6 for the two-game series. Both games are set for 8 p.m. EST on Big Ten Plus.

Slow start sinks MSU in blowout loss to Ohio State

No. 15 Michigan State dug itself into a 23-point halftime hole it couldn't climb out of Sunday, falling 87-68 to No. 12 Ohio State in the final game of the regular season at Breslin Center. A sluggish first half offensively — MSU shot just 28% from the field — combined with a red-hot Buckeye offense led by 33 points from sophomore guard Jaloni Cambridge proved to be too much to overcome, despite a much-improved second half showing from the Spartans.
