Students discuss Halloween costume predictions, pop culture impacts

Every Halloween, people of all ages dress up in costumes. More often than not, these costumes can usually fit into two categories: recent pop culture references or Halloween "classics." But how do college students find a costume that is either classic or super niche? Does pop culture have an impact on what students choose to wear?

MSU men's basketball's slow start in exhibition loss to No. 9 Tennessee offers team learning

Exhibition games are built to be a learning experience for everyone involved. Players, coaches, referees—everybody has something they can take out of the experience of an exhibition game. Michigan State men’s basketball’s high-intensity exhibition game against No. 9 Tennessee felt a little more like a late-March tournament battle than a game with no stakes. The game came down to the very last second when the Volunteers were able to pull ahead by one point for an 89-88 victory over the Spartans.

The MSU women's basketball season is about ready to kickoff. With new coach Robyn Fralick under helm for the Spartans, the team looks to increase their winning percentage for the 2023-24 season. With tough competition lying ahead, captains Moira Joiner and Julia Ayrault, along with star players DeeDee Hagemann and Jocelyn Tate weigh in on season expectations.
