Michigan State women's basketball dominates second meeting against Rutgers, win 93-57

After a 70-66 victory against Michigan last Sunday and a 68-59 victory over Purdue on Wednesday, the Michigan State women's basketball team collected its third victory in a row as they dominated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 93-57 on Saturday, Feb. 24. With this win, the Spartans now sit at 20-7 in overall play and 10-6 in Big Ten conference games, and the Scarlet Knights fall to 8-22 overall and 2-15 in conference games.

MSU hockey not enough for Ohio State's momentum, lose 6-2 in night one of series

After a bye week for the Spartans, the men's hockey team was back at Munn Ice Arena for the final home series of the regular season to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. OSU is currently ranked last in the Big Ten with just a lone three conference wins, but after a prior weekend sweep against the Wisconsin Badgers, the Buckeyes kept their hot streak alive and took a dominating 6-2 win over the Spartans.

Michigan State wrestling closed out its season by beating Central Michigan University 18-13 in a nail-biting meet. With the victory, the Spartans ended the season with a 10-6 overall record and a 2-6 record in the Big Ten.

The time had finally arrived for the last home series of the regular season for the Michigan State Spartans, and another opportunity at a big sweep against the Ohio State Buckeyes, but MSU took a quick fall in the second period which resulted in a 6-2 loss in night one of the two-game series.

Researchers at MSU FRIB inch closer to the stars with discovery of five new isotopes

An international research team working at MSU's Facility for Rare Isotope Beams reported the creation of five new isotopes. The isotopes, which have likely never existed on the surface of the Earth until last week, are a sign of the FRIB's potential to assist scientists in recreating the conditions found when neutron stars collide in space.

The Michigan State women’s basketball team has collected back-to-back games in the winning column after their defeat against Purdue for the second time this season with a score of 68-59. The win on Wednesday, Feb. 21 is the Spartan’s second win in a row after dropping back-to-back games for the first time all season with losses to Indiana and Ohio State.

Archives Book Store is set to close down in East Lansing. “One of the things I'm going to miss is a lot of the interpersonal communication with a lot of the individuals who have been or become regular customers over the years,” Owner Ray Walsh said. “I know what they're looking for, and I save stuff for them and they come in and say ‘You got it.’ And that's part of the joy of being a bookseller is kind of filling collector's needs and wants.”

MSU consolidates Title IX protections for pregnant students and employees

MSU’s Office for Civil Rights and Title IX Education and Compliance introduced a new policy outlining protections for students and employees who are pregnant, experiencing childbirth or pregnancy-related conditions, or are parents. Qualifying students who request accommodations can be granted periodic absences from class, extensions on assignments and can take breaks from class to express milk.

Baris was recently ranked No. 4 in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, or ITA. With this, Baris' ranking is the highest individual ranking any player has ever reached while playing at Michigan State.
