Students reflect on life at MSU for Homecoming weekend

With Homecoming weekend taking over East Lansing this weekend, we asked fellow MSU students what some of their biggest goals at MSU are, both for their entire academic careers and for this weekend's festivities.  For more on Homecoming 2015, be sure to check statenews.com!

Homecoming events happening this week

Happy homecoming week, Spartans!  This week, many different events and activities will be happening to get students in the spirit. The State News compiled a list of the events going on throughout the week to get you pumped up for the game against Purdue on Saturday.   Throughout the entire homecoming week: Sparty’s Flag Find will be taking place throughout all of homecoming week, Monday through Friday. The MSU Alumni Association is hosting Sparty's Flag Find every afternoon during Homecoming week. Students will have to find flags that will be placed at a secret location on campus.

UAB hosts knockerball tournament on Friday

On Friday, the University Activities Board hosted a knockerball tournament presented by Knockerball Lansing. Many videos from the event overflowed the MSU Snapchat story leaving people wondering, "what is knockerball?"  The State News asked Tanya Baucom, owner of Knockerball Lansing, to explain what it is and how to play.

COGS welcomes first South Asian president

After only a year of involvement in the Council of Graduate Students, graduate student Sudha Sankar holds the highest possible office — president. But the path leading up to becoming the first Indian-American president was not an easy one to travel. Sankar was born in India but grew up as a self-described “third culture kid.” She has lived in India, Botswana, Singapore and the U.S.
