Former basketball star mentors young athletes

The summer following his freshman year of high school, Alex Schmidt signed up for a local basketball clinic to improve his skills. Now 10 years later, Schmidt, who recently graduated from the University of Michigan, still attends David Thomas’ Basketball Clinic.

Swimsuit season finally has arrived, and the search for the perfect beach ensemble commences. With all the clothing stores in the area, there are plenty of swimsuits to choose from, but not all come at a price the average college student can afford. I used to shop online for my new suit every year, but since I started college, I found a lot of beach apparel to be too expensive for my budget. So this year, I explored many of the Lansing area’s shops in search of some less expensive but equally stylish alternatives.

City council passes entertainment ordinance

A recent ordinance change by East Lansing City Council will increase the number of businesses required to acquire an entertainment license, but will not impact “dancing in East Lansing,” Mayor Pro Tem Nathan Triplett said. The amendment to Ordinance 1278 was passed during council’s May 15 meeting and went into effect last Wednesday.
