West Lafayette, Ind. — The Spartans had seen this movie before. After the MSU football team took a 40-37 lead with less than two minutes remaining Saturday, Purdue began to drive toward a late victory.

Men, Women advance to NCAA’s

The MSU men’s cross country team recorded its best team finish in school history at Sunday’s NCAA Great Lakes Regional, finishing second and automatically qualifying for this year’s NCAA Championships.

MSU possibly heading to San Antonio

The Spartans’ 40-37 win against Purdue on Saturday, made them bowl-eligible for the third straight season. It marks the first time the Spartans have done so since 1995-97, and just the third time in program history.

The tables have turned. Last season, the No. 6 Wolverines had their way with the Spartans, beating MSU in all five meetings and outscoring the Spartans 27-10. But after this weekend’s home-and-home series, the Spartans showed they are far from the team the Wolverines embarrassed last season.
