Lansing Symphony Presents Popular Movie Music
When someone says “Star Wars theme song”, what comes to mind? (You know you’re singing it in your head now!) While lots of movies have nice musical scores, only certain films have amazing soundtracks that resonate with viewers for years and years after release. Star Wars is definitely one of them, and it was written by John Williams many years ago, but is still universally recognized.
Interestingly, Academy Award winner John Williams is the composer for countless other iconic songs and soundtracks other than Star Wars, and a portion of his most famous work is coming to East Lansing!
For one-night only, guest conductor Stuart Chafetz will lead the Lansing Symphony Orchestra (LSO) in taking the audience on a journey through both time, and movie music history playing beloved themes like the one in Schindler’s List to heroic marches found in Superman, Harry Potter, and E.T. The Extra-terrestrial.
Few things have the power to emotionally impact audiences like live music, and the power of these famous songs are sure to resonate with the mind and soul alike. The LSO will be providing this magical experience on just one night, Saturday, April 22nd at 8pm, after which, the show will be moving on to a galaxy far, far away. And of course, the music must be experienced at the right location to really capitalize on the grandeur, and so this concert will be at the Wharton Center Cobb Great Hall in East Lansing.
Don’t miss your chance to get caught up in the experience as seats are limited. Ticket prices are $50, $37, or $20 in advance, and tickets are available at www.Lansing.Symphony.org or by telephone at 517-487-5001. One hour before the show, Student Rush Tickets offer up remaining seats at 50% to students.
Star Wars fans listen up… this truly is a “Can’t Miss” as the “Force is strong with this one”!
