Crime blotter: Larceny, traffic stops and burglary

Larceny and traffic stops were both reported multiple times last week, along with one report of burglary.

The Michigan State University Department of Police and Public Safety disclosed the incidents under the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, which requires universities to publicly list reported criminal offenses and is subject to change as events are reported.

Incidents are distinguished by the date they were reported in crime blotter reports. This week's reported incidents may include incidents from prior days.

Saturday 8/15

A traffic stop involving someone driving without a valid registration occurred around 4 p.m. near Shaw Lane and Farm Lane. According to the Clery log, this incident resulted in a citation.

An MSU ordinance violation involving someone operating an unmanned drone occurred around 4:40 p.m. near Beaumont Tower.

A traffic stop involving someone driving with an expired registration and no valid driver's license or insurance occurred around 11:50 p.m. near Mount Hope Road and Hagadorn Road. According to the Clery log, this incident resulted in a citation.

Sunday 8/16

A traffic stop involving someone driving under the influence of liquor or drugs occurred around 12:45 a.m. near Grand River Avenue and Michigan Avenue. According to the Clery log, this incident resulted in an arrest.

Monday 8/17

A traffic stop involving someone driving with a suspended license occurred around 9:30 a.m. near Mount Hope Road and Harrison Road. According to the Clery log, this incident resulted in an arrest.

Damage to property and burglary with no intent occurred around 1:15 p.m. at Spartan Village Apartments. MSU DPPS reported that the incident involved the destruction of a window. According to the Clery log, this incident resulted in an arrest.

Larceny was reported to have occurred around 6 p.m. on Aug. 13 at 560 Ivy Court near 1855 Place. MSU DPPS reported that this involved a stolen bike.

Tuesday 8/18

A traffic stop involving someone driving with an invalid license occurred around 9:20 p.m. near Hagadorn Road and Mount Hope Road. According to the Clery log, this incident resulted in a citation.

Wednesday 8/19

Larceny was reported to have occurred around 12:20 a.m. on Aug. 18 at the Hancock Turfgrass Research Center. MSU DPPS reported that this involved a stolen lawn mower from the property grounds.

Thursday 8/20

A traffic stop involving someone driving without proof of insurance occurred around 8:40 a.m. near Hagadorn Road and Grand River Avenue.

Friday 8/21

Larceny was reported to have occurred around 2:20 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. MSU DPPS reported that this involved stolen AirPods.

A traffic stop involving someone driving with an invalid license occurred around 3:20 p.m. near Mount Hope Road and Harrison Road. According to the Clery log, this incident resulted in an arrest.
