Crime blotter: Traffic stops, larceny and operating under the influence

Traffic stops, larceny and operating under the influence were all reported multiple times last week.

The Michigan State University Department of Police and Public Safety disclosed the incidents under the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, which requires universities to publicly list reported criminal offenses and is subject to change as events are reported.

Incidents are distinguished by the date they were reported in crime blotter reports. This week's reported incidents may include incidents from days prior.

Saturday 7/11

No incidents were reported on this day.

Sunday 7/12

A traffic stop involving operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs occurred at Michigan Avenue and Delta Court around 2:20 a.m. MSU DPPS reported that the traffic stop was initiated for the subject driving without headlights on and resulted in an arrest after discovering the subject was driving under the influence.

Larceny at 1855 Place, Building 1805, was reported to have occurred on July 10 around 3 p.m. MSU DPPS reported that this incident involved a stolen bike.

No incidents were reported on this day.

Tuesday 7/14

Larceny at Bailey Hall was reported that occurred on July 12 around 6 p.m.

Wednesday 7/15

A traffic stop involving someone driving with a revoked license occurred near Harrison Road and Forest Road around 1:10 a.m.

A traffic stop involving someone driving with a suspended license occurred near Homer Street and East Michigan Avenue around 1 p.m. This incident resulted in an arrest, according to the Clery log.

Damage to property and burglary occurred at 1574 Spartan Village around 4 p.m. MSU DPPS reported that this incident involved a broken window and door lock.

A traffic stop involving an “other ops violation” occurred near Jolly Road and College Road around 11 p.m. This incident resulted in a citation, according to the Clery log.

Larceny at Eyde Building was reported that occurred on Jan. 7 around midnight. MSU DPPS reported that this involved a stolen book and bowl.

Thursday 7/16

A traffic stop involving someone driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and obstructing justice occurred near Mount Hope Road and Harrison Road around 10:30 a.m. MSU DPPS reported that police arrested the subject for driving under the influence, which also violated the subject’s parole.

A traffic stop involving someone driving with an expired registration and no proof of insurance occurred near Harrison Road and Crescent Road around 8:20 p.m.

Larceny at Butterfield Hall was reported that occurred on July 15 around 2 p.m. MSU DPPS reported that this incident involved a stolen horn from a bike.

Non-aggravated assault at Origami Brain Injury Rehabilitation was reported that occurred on July 15 around 4 p.m.

Friday 7/17

Larceny at Bailey Hall occurred around 12 p.m.

A traffic stop involving a registration violation and driving with no proof of insurance occurred near Kircher Field around 9:30 p.m.
