Michigan State women's basketball head coach Robyn Fralick has been selected to serve as an assistant coach for the USA Basketball women's U18 National Team, USA Basketball announced.
The honor comes as no surprise to anyone who has followed the Spartans over the past three seasons. Fralick has led MSU to a 20-win season in each of her first three years, and with a 22-6 record heading into the final regular-season game, she has a chance to surpass her best mark yet. She became the first head coach to lead MSU to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in her first two seasons and guided the Spartans to a No. 12 ranking in the AP Top 25 this season, their highest mark in 15 seasons.
Notre Dame head coach Niele Ivey will lead the team as head coach, with California head coach Charmin Smith also named as an assistant. The U18 National Team is a historic program looking to win its 12th straight gold medal and 13th overall since the tournament's inception in 1988.
Fralick will be making her USA Basketball coaching debut after serving as a court coach at the USA Women's AmeriCup Team trials last year.
The 2026 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup is set for June 8-14, but in the meantime, Fralick’s focus remains on MSU as she prepares her squad for its final regular-season game against No. 13 Ohio State (23-5, 12-4 Big Ten) in East Lansing on Sunday at noon.
