Tom Izzo and the Spartans picked up their fourth commitment of the 2026 class, this time, the No. 2 center in the country, according to 247Sports, Ethan Taylor.

During his official visit on Oct. 3, "Ethan Taylor–Ethan Taylor" rang out through a crowd of thousands of students at the Izzone Campout. It was a warm welcome for the five-star Shawnee, Kansas native who chose MSU over Indiana, Kansas, Oregon and Oklahoma.

Taylor averaged 14 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.81 blocks per game this past season with Shawnee Mission Northwest High School before transferring to Link Academy, where he’ll play his senior year. MSU’s 2026 commit Carlos Medlock Jr. will also spend his final high school year alongside Taylor at Link Academy.

With a seven-foot-three wingspan, Taylor promises to be a dynamic center with zero issue at dunking the basketball. Even playing against smaller players on average in high school, Taylor had the attributes to dunk and post up with ease.

His monstrous dunks and finishes undoubtedly get the most attention on social media, but much of his value comes from the pick-and-roll passing. Taylor often utilizes the roll-to-floss defenders with seamless passes that lead to easy scores.

Adam Finkelstein, director of basketball scouting at CBS Sports, said that Taylor is already dominant in the paint but has room to grow with added size over time.

"He can spin-off contact in the post, rise up for emphatic power dunks and be a consistent lob threat," Finkelestein said. "Still, there is room for more physical dominance, as he continues to harness his conditioning in order to consistently keep up with the pace of an up-tempo game and learns to be more proactively physical in order to dominate the paint to the extent he’s capable of."

With the additions of Jervis, Medlock Jr. and Julius Avent to the freshman class next season, MSU owns the No. 1 ranked 2026 recruiting class in college basketball, according to 247Sports
