“I’m so excited for Taylor’s upcoming album, and will definitely be seeing the release party in the theaters this weekend,” said biosystems engineering junior Sierra Moore.

In this special feature fans will be able to see the world premiere of "The Fate of Ophelia" music video as well as extra behind the scenes footage, new lyric videos, and stories about each song on the album. This "exclusive world premiere" will only be in certain theaters from October 3 until October 5. The event has many fans jumping to preorder tickets.

”The Taylor Swift fans are such a fun community, so I am a bit sad I will be unable to attend The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” kinesiology junior Brielle Phung said. “But I am excited to see what genre of music she brings to the table this time around, with her past couple of albums showcasing some different styles of music.”

In October 2023, Swift did something similar with the release of the "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour." The film was over three hours long, documenting a night at the Eras tour from start to finish. There was some controversy surrounding the fact that she cut out certain songs from the movie, which led her to release the full version on Disney+. During its time in the box office it became the highest grossing film amongst concert and documentary films, earning more than $261.1 million globally. 

“Seeing the Eras Tour movie in theaters was an interesting experience since it was just the concert,” psychology junior Kaelyn Swiech said. “I would have loved to see a documentary or behind the scenes of the makings of the tour instead.”
