Nearly a month after the transfer portal closed, sophomore guard Divine Ugochukwu is officially headed to Michigan State University men's basketball, transferring from Miami.

Ugochukwu averaged 5.3 points, 2.3 assists and 1.9 rebounds as a true freshman, playing just over 20 minutes per game in a backup guard role. He is expected to provide similar depth at MSU behind Samford transfer Trey Fort and Jeremy Fears Jr.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Texas native has multiple years of eligibility remaining and will have time to develop under head coach Tom Izzo. Though somewhat undersized for his position, he is expected to contribute valuable minutes off the bench.

Ugochukwu becomes the third transfer to commit to MSU for the 2025 season. A three-star prospect out of Clements High School, he was ranked among the top 20 players in Texas.

Ugochukwu started 16 of the 28 games he played in last season, bringing a level of experience uncommon for a rising sophomore.
