Michigan State University men’s basketball added its first transfer on Thursday. The Spartans picked up 6-foot-7-inch junior forward Kaleb Glenn, who played his freshman year at Louisville and sophomore year at Florida Atlantic University.
At FAU, Glenn averaged 12.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, and shot 53% from the field and 41% from three-point range.
In MSU’s 86-69 win over FAU last December, Glenn scored six points on 2-for-9 shooting, grabbed one rebound and had one assist in 23 minutes.
Glenn is a key part in the future of MSU basketball. After seven of MSU’s 10 rotational players have moved on, or potentially will move on — three seniors, one to the NBA Draft, and three to the transfer portal, including Xavier Booker solidifying his departure to UCLA — the Spartans needed to find pieces to the puzzle. Glenn’s ability to rebound and play inside, marked by his size and experience, can help lift some MSU woes for next season.
The Spartans still need a main scorer since Jaden Akins and Jase Richardson are gone.
