No. 8 Michigan State University gymnastics has advanced to the 2025 NCAA Regional Final for the fourth consecutive year, posting its highest-ever regional semifinal score of 197.625.
"This was one of the steps we were missing from past years, coming in first in the semifinals," MSU head coach Mike Rowe said. "We're primed and ready to go and know all of the little things we need to fix to score even higher. We're pumped. It was a great warm up day for us. Very excited, very proud of them."
The Spartans outscored second-place No. 9 Kentucky (197.525), third-place Ohio State (196.400) and fourth-place Penn State (196.225). MSU and Kentucky will advance to the regional final, where they will face evening session winners No. 1 LSU (198.100) and No. 16 Arkansas (197.550).
MSU has faced LSU just once in program history, a loss in 2008. The Spartans and Razorbacks are 1-1 all-time, with Arkansas winning the first matchup in 2008 and MSU taking the rematch in East Lansing in 2017.
The top two teams from the regional final will qualify for the NCAA Championships, scheduled for April 17–19 in Fort Worth, Texas.
MSU will compete in the NCAA Regional Final on Saturday, April 5, at 5 p.m. The meet will stream live on ESPN+.
