Michigan State University gymnastics capped off its historic 2025 season with the highest ranking in program history, placing No. 6 in the nation.

The side finished fourth in the NCAA Championships Semifinals with a score of 197.3625 on Thursday night at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Spartans finished behind semifinal winner Utah (197.7625), second-place UCLA (197.7375) and third-place LSU (197.525). Utah and UCLA advanced to the championship finals as the top two finishers.

It marked MSU’s first semifinal appearance since 1988 — and just the second in program history. The Spartans concluded the season with a 29-8 record, matching last season’s overall mark. For the first time ever, MSU was ranked in the top 10 every week throughout the regular season.

This postseason, the Spartans continued their ascent with a series of new milestones. At the Big Ten Championships, MSU posted a season-high and road-best score of 198.150. The program also reached nationals for the fourth consecutive season, finishing first in the regional semifinals and second in the regional final.

MSU gymnastics will be back next year and are hoping to continue growing the program.

"Don’t sleep on us for next year because these kids are hungry," MSU gymnastics head coach Mike Rowe said. "I’m so genuinely proud of everything they have done and how they have been consistent and stayed with it and worked their butts off, blood, sweat, and tears."

With a record-breaking season behind them and a hungry, battle-tested roster returning, Michigan State gymnastics has firmly cemented itself as a national contender — not just for this year, but for years to come.
