Former Middle Tennessee State University junior wide receiver Omari Kelly has committed to MSU, the former three-star recruit announced on social media Sunday.
Hailing from Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama, Kelly committed to Auburn in 2022, tallying five receptions for 101 yards in his two-year stint with the Tigers. Kelly entered the transfer portal in late 2023 before committing to MTSU. In one year with the Blue Raiders, Kelly hauled in 53 receptions for 869 yards and four touchdowns.
The commitment coming after MSU lost rotation wide receivers Jaron Glover and Aziah Johnson to the transfer portal and Montorie Foster Jr. to the NFL draft, Kelly adds needed depth and production to the Spartans' wideout group heading into the second year of head coach Jonathan Smith's tenure.
The 6-foot Kelly is the first transfer to commit to MSU since the portal opened on Dec. 9. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
