Michigan State University redshirt freshman wide receiver Aziah Johnson (11) smiles after a successful play during the game against the University of Iowa on Oct. 19, 2024 in Spartan Stadium.

Michigan State football redshirt freshman wide receiver Aziah Johnson plans to enter the transfer portal. The former three-star recruit’s agency made the announcement to CBSSports and 247 Sports Friday.

Recruited by wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins, Johnson is the third Spartan to declare his intention to enter the transfer portal, following defensive lineman Jaron Glover, who announced his decision on Thursday.

As Johnson has three years of eligibility remaining, MSU will lose one of its special teams players and rotational wide receiver.

Johnson, who came from Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, VA, had offers from Virginia Tech, Duke and North Carolina, committing to MSU in Dec. of 2022.

The 6-foot, 175-pound receiver played in 15 games for MSU, with 16 receptions for 276 yards and two touchdowns.
