Michigan State's men’s and women’s basketball teams announced their conference schedules Thursday, completing their full schedules for the upcoming season.
The men's team and head coach Tom Izzo begin the campaign on a lighter note with a two-game home stretch against Monmouth University on Nov. 4, followed by a matchup against Niagara University on Nov. 7.
Michigan State's men's team will then travel to Atlanta, Georgia for the State Farm Champions Classic tournament for its first real test against the Kansas Jayhawks on Nov. 12. Two weeks later, the Spartans will play in the Maui Invitational against Colorado on Nov. 25 and UConn or Memphis Nov. 26. If the Spartans win a game in Maui, they'll play a third game against either North Carolina, Dayton, Iowa State or Auburn.
On Dec. 17, the men's team will play Oakland University at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
To begin Big Ten play, the men will take on Minnesota on the road Dec. 4, followed by a game against Nebraska at Breslin Center Dec. 7.
On Jan. 25, the men's team will travel to the esteemed Madison Square Garden in New York City to face Rutgers, something the two programs did in 2023.
The men's trip to California to play new Big Ten teams USC and UCLA will be on Feb. 1 and Feb. 4, respectively.
The MSU men's senior night and final game of the season will be against rival University of Michigan on March 9.
MSU's women’s basketball team is coming off a positive season under first-year head coach Robyn Fralick. It will begin the 2024-2025 season at home against Oakland.
The women's team will make an early trip out west to play University of California in the first round of the Acrisure Classic series on Nov. 26. If the Spartans win, they advance to play either Arizona or Vanderbilt the following day.
Michigan State's women's team will open up conference play against Iowa on Dec. 15. On Dec. 20 and Dec. 21, the Spartans head to the West Palm Beach Classic in California.
Michigan is the only repeat on the women's schedule, with a Jan. 25 game in Ann Arbor and Feb. 9 slate at Breslin Center.
