The Stoopfest music festival is returning to Lansing for its sixth year, featuring over 100 artists from various genres, such as folk, ska, hip hop and comedy. The festival will take place on April 20 and 21 in various locations across Lansing's Eastside neighborhood.
Performances will take place in an eclectic combination of parks, backyards, garages and bars that are within walking distance from each other — a tradition that Stoopfest has maintained since it first began.
General admission for both days of the festival costs $35, with tickets available to purchase online. Tickets are also available at The Record Lounge in Lansing. One hundred percent of the proceeds are given to the artists that perform throughout the weekend.
The festival's headliners include JER, Quelle Chris and Vial.
JER initially began playing Ska when they covered songs and uploaded them to their YouTube channel. Their 2020 album “Ska Goes Emo, Vol. 1” gained over one million streams. Their most famous song is “R/Edgelord” which has over 422,000 streams.
Quelle Chris is a hip-hop and punk rock musician and producer. He signed with Mello Music Group after initially getting his start with a band he created in 2008 with Denmark Vessey, called Crown Nation. Since starting his solo career, he has accumulated over 134,000 monthly listeners and has five songs with over one million streams on Spotify.
VIAL, an indie-punk band based in Minneapolis, formed in 2019. The band has released two albums, “Grow Up” and “LOUDMOUTH,” along with other singles. They are currently touring the United States and have over 218,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
