Redshirt senior wide receiver Jayden Reed was selected 50th overall in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He’s the first Michigan State player off the board

The agile wideout was a playmaker on offense and on special teams during his time at MSU. Reed earned all First Team All American Honors in 2022, dubbed an “all-purpose” player. He notched over 1,000 receiving yards and caught 10 touchdowns in 2021, not to mention the two touchdowns and 238 yards he earned returning punts. Reed was also named the offensive MVP of the Peach Bowl

This past season was a bit of a disappointment, due almost entirely to injury. Reed missed one game in the 2022-23 season but rarely played at 100%, finishing with 636 receiving yards and five touchdown catches

Reed leaves Michigan State with 2,069 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns catches. He also earned a total of 725 yards on kick-off returns as well as 366 yards and two touchdowns returning punts

After a 2023 season altered by injury, Reed’s draft stock rose after an impressive showing in the senior bowl. His agility and ability to win one-on-one was on full display during those practices, and scouts around the league took notice
