Michigan State Police cop cars line the streets at the 242 Community Church in Okemos after a false shooting report at Okemos High School on Feb. 7, 2023.

According to a Michigan State Police alert, a shelter-in-place has been issued for parts of Windsor Township as police search for two people reported to be armed.

The shelter-in-place is specific to the areas of Nixon Road, Windsor Highway and Vermontville Highway, just twenty minutes for Michigan State's campus. The alert comes just days after a shooting at MSU killed three students and injured five.

According to Eaton County 911's Facebook Page, the suspects are believed to be a white man wearing all black and a white man dressed in a blue coat.

People in the area are urged to remain inside with doors and windows locked, and pets should stay inside for the time being.

Windsor Township residents are asked to report any suspicious acts to 911.

Eaton County 911 will update as they learn more.
