No foul play suspected in Knob Hill apartment fire

The Meridian Township Fire Department concluded the investigation into the two fires at Knob Hill Apartments located in Okemos, which initially began on Dec. 21.

The department concluded the cause of the fire is undetermined. Meridian Township Fire Marshal Tavis Millerov said there was no sign of suspicious activity.

Both buildings, Knob Hill Apartments were determined to be a total loss and was torn down.

The origin of the fire was on a couch in a garden level apartment.

During recovery efforts, one person was found deceased, who was later identified to be Raymond Naseef, 52, of Okemos.

Two Okemos teachers who lived in the second building that caught fire, alerted many residents of the fire.
