East Lansing's guide to Black Friday

While Thanksgiving may be the primary focus for most East Lansing residents this week, Black Friday comes in a close second for many. If you plan to spend your holiday in the East Lansing area, here is a guide for your day of shopping.

Grand River Avenue

Moosejaw

Get 20 percent off the entire store with some exclusions, and select items will be up to 40 percent off. The first 30 customers at the door will receive a free Nalgene bottle, as well as a $5 or $10 gift card that can be used day of.

Customers with a rewards membership will get 50 percent back on their purchases. 

Quark!

Quark! will be celebrating "Green Friday" as their store highlights science and art gifts, offering a 10 percent discount on them. For small business Saturday, the day after Black Friday, they will also be offering select discounts.

Target

Target will not offer Black Friday sales in-store, but you can find all of their deals on their website and have your purchase shipped to your front door.

Meridian Mall 

Just ten minutes from campus at 1982 W. Grand River Rd. in Okemos, Meridian Mall is home to several fashion stores, a gym, food stops such as Auntie Anne’s and a Super Sky High Bungee.

Sunglass Hut

Save 30 percent on all purchases in-store, excluding brands Maui Jim, Michael Kors, Gucci, and Tiffany’s. 

Buckle

Get an additional 20 percent off items already marked as 20 percent off while keeping an eye out for styles marked 33 percent and 50 percent off. Earn $100 back by spending $500, $35 back by spending $250 or $15 by spending $150.  

American Eagle

Save 30 percent off your entire purchase excluding jeans, gift cards and third-party items and an additional 50% off items on clearance. 

If you are a Real Rewards Member, cozy up with a free fleece blanket and $10 bonus reward after spending $125 or more, and get an additional 10 percent off your purchase excluding jeans, gift cards and third-party items.

H&M

Sales have already begun with big markdowns storewide up to 70 percent. On Black Friday, the entire store will be 30 percent off. 

JCPenney

Find deals across the entire store, such as 60 percent off jewelry and 50 percent off Champion brand apparel for the family.

Campus Den

$10 T-shirts will be sold from 7 a.m. to noon, while anything embroidered will be 30 percent off all day. Additionally, the store is selling $10 doorbusters of select items.

Journeys:

Sales will include 20 percent off select footwear and accessories. 

Aeropostale:

Clothing will be 50 to 70 percent off across the entire store. Examples include 50 percent off puffer jackets and 60 percent fleeces.

Torrid

Get 50% off everything from clothes to accessories.

Windsor

The entire store will be marked 20 percent off, with a clearance section marking each item as only $5.

GameStop

All games will be marked down by section to $39.99 or less, $29.99 or less, or $20 or less. Controllers for Xbox consoles and PS5 will have $20 taken off their usual price of $70 to $75. If you purchase a Nintendo Switch, you will receive a free copy of Mario Kart.

More sales to come on Friday for items such as action figures and T-shirts.

Bed Bath & Beyond

Black Friday has already begun at Bed Bath & Beyond, with offers up to 60 percent off with no coupon necessary while the rest of the store remains 25 percent off.

Footlocker

Footlocker will be individually marking shoes off under brands such as Jordan, Nike and more.

Victoria Secret & Pink

Victoria's Secret will give away a tote bag and blanket with any purchase. Black Friday deals will not be released until Friday, although card members will be getting separate deals.

Bath & Body Works

Black Friday has already begun with a buy-three-get-three sale on all items. Additional sales may be added on Black Friday.
