Friday’s 35-13 victory against Western Michigan moved the Spartans up one spot in this week’s AP Poll. With just three losing teams ranked ahead of Michigan State in the week one poll, minimal shifting was to be expected.
MSU fans went into the season opener expecting a win, and that is what they got, but despite their solid start to the year, the Spartans had their fair share of shaky moments throughout the game.
Following week one, four Big Ten teams stand in the top-25 starting with Ohio State moving down one spot to No. 3, Michigan up four to No. 4, Michigan State moving up to No. 14 and Wisconsin dropping one spot to No. 19.
