Michigan State University Dean of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences Prabu David announced in an email to the MSU community that he will be stepping down from his position as the dean of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences.

The move comes as David transitions into a university-wide role as Associate Provost for Faculty and Academic Staff Development.

“It has been a great privilege serving as the college’s dean for the last eight years, and to have the chance to get to know so many of you,” David wrote in his announcement email.

He is set to start in his new role on July 1 but will continue to serve as the ComArtSci dean until a new one is appointed.

A national search for the next dean will be conducted by Provost Teresa Woodruff and the College Advisory Committee in the fall.

David wrote that he has been grateful for his time as the ComArtSci dean and that he is proud of all the accomplishments that have been made during his tenure.

“I have truly enjoyed getting to know our Spartan alumni community during my tenure as dean,” David wrote. “Our college has made strides in student and faculty success, growing our reputation as one of the top-ranked colleges in the discipline."
