The Board of Trustees plans to meet for the first time this semester on Friday, Feb. 11 at 8 a.m. in room 401 of the Hannah Administration Building.

A remote live stream will be available on the trustees' website for those wishing to tune in. Public commenters will need to submit requests 48 hours before the meeting.

President Samuel L. Stanley Jr. sent an email Tuesday detailing reports on actions the university will take to make campus a supportive, safe environment. Those actions include a comprehensive review of faculty and academic staff emeriti who have had RVSM violations, development of a “Professional Standards Policy” for faculty and academic staff and updates on the discipline process across employee groups.

The revisions to the Discipline and Dismissal of Tenured Faculty for Cause, or Policy 03-17-09, will be voted on by the academic affairs committee.

“This updated policy charts us on a path toward a more equitable discipline process across employee groups,” Stanley said in the email.

At the beginning of the meeting, the board will be requested to approve the Gift, Grant, and Contract Report from Nov. 16 to Jan. 12. The report includes 331 gifts, grants and contracts and 31 consignment or non-cash gifts, totaling $163,922,296. During the 2021-22 academic year, the university received $547,912,939.

Animal science professor Jason Rowntree will present research about the MSU Center of Regenerative Agriculture.

Next on the agenda is Provost Teresa Woodruff's Personnel Actions and Information Reports. She will ask the board to approve various personnel actions, including job titles and salary changes.

The budget and finance committee will be asked to approve four items. Vice President for Strategic Infrastructure Planning and Facilities Daniel Bollman will ask the committee to approve the $700,000 purchase of a property in Lansing township. The property was historically leased by MSU and used by the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources for crop production.

The committee will also be asked to approve a long-term lease in Flint, allowing MSU to lease space to house research teams for the expanding research enterprise.

Bollman will ask the committee to approve two authorizations: a provision for large animal imaging in the Clinical Center and additions and renovations to the Packaging Building.

The audit, risk and compliance committee will vote on the reappointment of Plante & Moran as external auditors for the 2021-22 fiscal year and approval of contract terms with Portera Therapeutics.
