Michigan State students are welcome to watch an advanced screening of “The Batman” on Tuesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. Students already registered do not have to RSVP again. in Wells Hall.
Starring the likes of Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Barry Keoghan and Colin Farrell, the film does not officially come out in theatres until March 4.
Representatives from Warner Bros. Pictures reached out to MSU to offer a viewing on campus.
“Usually what happens is that representatives from studios producing these movies contact students who oversee showing movies on campus and ask them to show it at their venues,” Director of Media Entertainment for the Residence Halls Association Arsh Rathod said in an email. “We don’t reach out to these representatives, but they reach out to us.”
"We’ve been offered to do a lot of other advanced screenings for other movies, as well,” he said in the email. “Last semester we got to do an advanced screening of Dear Evan Hansen, courtesy of Universal Studios.”
Students must register via Warner Bros. ahead of time to receive their movie passes.
There will not be critics there. The sole purpose of advanced screenings is to get the overall reactions of the audience members.
“(Students) will then get a confirmation email that they’ll have to show," Rathod said. "There was an issue with a link not giving confirmation emails, but according to the student rep from Warner Bros, that shouldn’t be an issue when they come."
Students must have their passes to enter and IDs will be checked at the door.
