Weather Alert: Winter storm watch is in effect until Thursday evening

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch until 11 p.m. Thursday evening. Snowfall will begin late Tuesday night.

This watch impacts portions of south, central and southwest Michigan. Heavy snow is possible, with accumulations of eight to 12 inches of snow. The heaviest snow is likely to fall around the I-94 interstate. Travel can be difficult and impossible at times, affecting morning and evening commutes on Wednesday and Thursday.

Snowfall totals are forecasted to be around eight inches by Thursday night. Be sure to monitor the latest forecasts for updates on the watch and how it could impact your commute.
