The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch until 11 p.m. Thursday evening. Snowfall will begin late Tuesday night.
Weather Alert: Winter storm watch is in effect until Thursday evening
The Spartan Statue gets a dusting of snow on Jan. 28, 2019. Lansing Mayor Andy Schor declared a snow emergency on the same day due to the inclement weather.
This watch impacts portions of south, central and southwest Michigan. Heavy snow is possible, with accumulations of eight to 12 inches of snow. The heaviest snow is likely to fall around the I-94 interstate. Travel can be difficult and impossible at times, affecting morning and evening commutes on Wednesday and Thursday.
