Following a 40-29 loss at Purdue, Michigan State has fallen to No. 7 in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings.

The Spartans debuted at No. 3 in the first CFP rankings last week, but the upset loss to the unranked Boilermakers was enough for the committee to justify dropping MSU four spots. Notably, Michigan slotted in at No. 6 despite falling to the Spartans two weeks ago in East Lansing. Four other teams from the Big Ten are represented in the latest rankings with Ohio State checking in at No. 4, Wisconsin at No. 18, Purdue at No. 19, and Iowa at No. 20.
