At 2 a.m, on Nov. 20, the East Lansing Police Department responded to a medical assist on the 400 block of Stoddard Avenue.

Four individuals were found passed out, one of which was unresponsive and not breathing.

The East Lansing Fire Department medical personnel took over CPR and provided medical treatment. However, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ingham County Medical Examiner.

An autopsy report has been ordered by the Ingham County Medical Examiner. ELPD has also begun its investigation.

The deceased individual is a student at Michigan State University. Police say alcohol consumption could have played a role in this case.

The other three individuals were transported to Sparrow Hospital for further medical attention.

The final autopsy report, containing toxicology results, will take six-to-eight weeks to complete.

For resources, MSU Crisis & Psychiatric Services are available to students 24/7/365.
