MSU men's basketball junior forward Thomas Kithier is in the transfer portal, a spokesperson for the team confirmed to The State News.

Kithier will graduate from MSU with a bachelor's of science in May and will enter the portal as a graduate student, according to his Twitter statement.

"This decision will allow me to explore options for grad school," Kithier wrote in his statement. "A huge thanks goes to my parents for their love and support!"

The Clarkston, Michigan native played a significant role in Tom Izzo's rotation this past season. Kithier started in 14 games during the 2020-21 campaign, averaging 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 points per game.

Kithier is the third player to enter the transfer portal from the program, following after teammates Rocket Watts and Jack Hoiberg.

On Monday, junior Aaron Henry announced his decision to enter the 2021 NBA Draft. Kithier's departure means there is one additional spot open on the Spartans 2021-22 roster.
