The Associated Students of Michigan State University have announced the candidates for the General Assembly Elections, and elections are to take place this week.
There are 24 MSU student candidates from 11 different colleges running as representatives for the 2021-2022 academic year.
According to an ASMSU press release, candidates for the General Assembly election are as listed:
College of Agriculture and Natural Resources:
College of Arts and Letters:
Broad College of Business:
College of Communication Arts and Sciences:
College of Engineering:

Candidates will campaign to fellow students of their respected college, and students will then vote for their favored candidate until Friday, April 2.
Students can also write-in candidates on the ballot for those who missed the formal election packet deadline or who did not get enough signatures. The newly elected representatives will be announced on Monday, April 5.
Additionally, Office of the President Elections will take place from April 13 to April 15.
Office of the President Election Packets opened up on March 22, 2021. The newly elected General Assembly representatives will then elect the Office of the President candidates on April 13, 14 and 15.
If there is more than one Office of the President candidate, then a debate will be held on Monday, April 12.
Students can also expect to see the annual tax referendum vote on the ballot this spring.
The 2021 Tax Referendum accounts for three organizations, including the Residence Halls Association, Impact 89FM Radio and University Apartment Council of Residence.
The Impact 89FM tax would result in a $3 semesterly tax for the next three years. Tax money goes toward maintenance, community events like concerts, and providing resources for student learning.
The RHA tax, if passed, would be a $25 tax for the next three years. The tax would go toward campus-wide events, hall governments and caucuses.
The UACOR tax goes toward activities, maintaining the community garden and access to cable TV.
Ballots opened on Monday, March 29, and will remain open until Sunday, April 4.
