Quality Dairy Store closes university location

June 15, 2020

Quality Dairy Store permanently closed their university location on East Grand River Avenue on Sunday.

Signs placed in the store’s front thank customers for years of support and offer a list of the 28 open Quality Dairy Stores to continue to support.

The East Lansing locations at Michigan Avenue and Lake Lansing Road will remain open.

According to the city of East Lansing website, Quality Dairy is among Lansing's major regional employers, employing a total of 730 individuals across their locations.

Quality Dairy has remained open amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, offering expanded pick-up and delivery services in many locations. In a March Facebook post, CEO Kenneth Martin said it is important to continue to support the community in times of trial and assured people they would do so by keeping their stores open and continuing to offer the products their customers need.

East Lansing Communications Coordinator Mikell Frey said city staff is not aware of any recent discussions regarding a redevelopment of this site. As of Monday, no application has been submitted for redevelopment.
