Referendums to increase student taxes for the Associated Students of Michigan State University, the James Madison Student Sentate and University Apartments Council of Residents were removed from the undergraduate elections ballot, ASMSU President Mario Kakos said in the General Assembly's weekly gazette.

Tax increases were denied due to the global disruption COVID-19 has brought, he said.

"Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, MSU administration has decided to deny all student tax increases this spring," Kakos said in a statement. "Our General Assembly elections and overall tax renewal will continue as planned."

The General Assembly elections and renewal of ASMSU and JMC Student Senate's current tax will remain on the ballot.

"We did our part as ASMSU, that’s all I can 100% speak to," Kakos said.

MSU students can continue to vote online until April 5, here.
