Mona Hanna-Attisha, the pediatrician, scientist, activist and author who uncovered the Flint water crisis, has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a Twitter post Thursday evening, Hanna-Attisha wrote, "I tested positive. I’m doing fine."

Hanna-Attisha encouraged others in recovery to consider donating their plasma, as she has.
Her tweet links to the National COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Project website, offering resources on the use of convalescent plasma to treat patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Hanna-Attisha is the founder and director of the Michigan State University and Hurley Children’s Hospital Pediatric Public Health Initiative, a public health program in Flint, Michigan. Her research was at the forefront of unveiling the Flint water crisis, revealing children had been exposed to dangerous levels of lead in the city.
She has been vocal about COVID-19 prevention during this pandemic through social media.
